Architectural Photography for atlanta Architects
Kristy Larsen Photography works with architects, builders, developers, interior designers, and brands throughout Atlanta to create refined, publication-quality imagery of both residential and commercial projects.
Architectural photography is more than simply documenting a space…
It’s about understanding the intent behind the design and the purpose of the space. It’s about appreciating the power and effect our environment has on us, and honoring that vision.
I approach each project with careful planning of light, composition, and timing. Because ambient lighting is not always ideal, it’s very important to have the knowledge and equipment to shape, add, and subtract light. This helps maintain a clean and cohesive look and directs the feeing and mood of the image. The goal is to capture the architecture in a way that feels both accurate and elevated, highlighting form, materials, mood, and spatial relationships.
Before each shoot, I spend time understanding the project and intent, including key design features and what it feels like to be in the space. This collaborative approach ensures that the final images align with the vision of the architect or design team. On-site, the process is thoughtful and detail-oriented, allowing for adjustments that refine each composition.
Professional architectural photography is imperative for successful marketing, high-end publications, and design awards. The final images are versatile and timeless, helping clients present their work at a high level and attract the right audience. I currently photograph projects throughout metro Atlanta, including Buckhead, Midtown, Dunwoody, Alpharetta, and surrounding areas.

merging fine art with architectural photography
As a lifelong and award-winning fine artist, Kristy earned her Bachelor of Art degree, cum laude, from Kennesaw State University in 2001. During college, her love of photography grew while she explored alternative photographic processes, such as emulsion transfers, Sabattier prints, cyanotypes, and infrared film.
These experiments continue to guide her distinct perspective today.
Known for her unique and thoughtful interpretations, Kristy creates imagery that engages beyond the visual, drawing on atmosphere, emotion, and subtle nuance. Her style often leans editorial, with a refined use of light and shadow, and is recognized for its balance between architectural exploration and fine art.
