My Process

If you’re curious about what it’s like to work with me, click the tabs for a glimpse into my process.

planning

Planning is crucial for a successful outcome. Before beginning the actual process of a shoot, I learn as much as I can about your business and projects. This way I can tailor the photography or video to meet your needs.

Together, we’ll discuss your marketing goals and how you want the visuals to represent your brand.
• What features or concepts do you want to highlight?
• What type of mood/feel should the visuals illustrate?
• What is the response you would like from potential clients?
These are the key things we’ll explore in the planning phase.

If you can send me snapshots of the space, they’re helpful during planning. In some cases, a scout day is beneficial to assess lighting, surroundings, and equipment needed before the shoot.

From there, I’ll confirm the shot list with you. Once we’ve agreed on the list and the estimate, we’re ready to move forward to photoshoot day.

Photoshoot Day

There are two ways we can approach a photoshoot, depending on what works best for you.

The first is a more flexible, hands-off approach. You provide access to the space for me to photograph or film, and I capture as much as I can, taking direction from the approved shot list. You can then review the proofs and choose which ones you’d like to license.

The second is a highly curated and collaborative session focused entirely on capturing the key “hero” shots. You’ll be on-site, involved in staging and directing, ensuring every detail aligns with your vision.

A full day photoshoot usually yields 10-15 photos total. Each shot takes between 30 minutes to an hour to set up and capture. I begin by carefully framing the composition, followed by staging (sometimes, furniture like chairs or tables may need to be moved or even removed entirely to create the perfect shot). Once the staging is set for the composition, I bring in lighting and light modifiers to enhance the image further.

Editing & Delivery

Editing is where the final vision truly comes to life. A successful architectural photographer isn’t just capturing images—they’re creating art. Like a skilled painter, they know how to draw the eye, enhance the atmosphere, and refine the details to make each image compelling.

Post-production can be more time-consuming than the shoot itself, requiring meticulous attention to detail. I carefully hand-blend multiple exposures, making selective contrast and color adjustments, along with precise retouching to ensure each image is flawless.

Once the final images or video are complete, they will be uploaded to an online gallery for easy access. You’ll have the opportunity for one round of revisions to make sure everything aligns perfectly with your vision.

the final reveal

Seeing your work professionally photographed is an exciting and transformative experience. With the right lighting and expert composition, your projects look more stunning than ever—elevating the way you (and your clients) feel about your work. The process is seamless, collaborative, and completely stress-free.

You don’t have to settle for mediocre visuals or learn photography yourself. Instead, you get the benefits of professional results: striking images that elevate your projects, increase your confidence, and entice your clients. You stand out among the competition, and your work speaks for itself.
