Located in Sandy Springs and just south of the Chattahoochee River, Aj Madison opened their Atlanta showroom in 2024 and needed professional photography to advertise their high-end brand. As a growing hub for luxury homes, interior design, and upscale retail, Sandy Springs provides the ideal setting for a brand focused on premium appliances and curated kitchen solutions. Projects like this highlight the importance of professional retail and commercial photography in communicating both the quality of the products and the design of the space itself.

Aj Madison commissioned me to photograph the entire showroom, capturing both wide views and close-ups of each display. The scope of the project included over 50 individual appliance displays, requiring at least one vignette of each while maintaining a cohesive visual style across the full set of images.

In addition to photography, the project included the creation of a high-end video designed to reflect the luxury positioning of the brand and showroom. The goal was to produce a complete visual package that could be used across marketing, web, and promotional platforms. See the video below:

light, reflections, and a busy retail environment

One of the primary challenges of the shoot was the scale of the space combined with an active retail environment. Working around customers while maintaining clean, distraction-free compositions required careful timing and coordination. Another major factor was managing reflections. Highly polished appliance surfaces, glass, and surrounding materials created constant visual interference, including reflections from the exterior parking area.

This is where it’s critical to have the equipment, knowledge, and experience to overcome distracting elements so the materials shine. Without this ability, the subtle and sleek elements get lost and aren’t clear. To address this, I minimized and shaped reflections by using additional lighting and on-site adjustments. I was able to bring out the surface details of the materials while keeping the clarity of the sleek designs, and preserving the look and feel of the showroom. The result is a set of images that balance technical precision with a clean, elevated aesthetic. This type of work simply can’t be done with a cell phone camera, or even a professional camera alone.

With these photos, Aj Madison won the Manufacturer/Distributor Showroom Award at the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA Georgia Chapter) Designs of Distinction Awards 2025.
